Jittery over the last week endorsement of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin by Christians in Ogbomoso land, the governor of the state, Seyi Makinde has asked Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Oyewo Oyelowo and Chairman of the state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing), Bishop Ademola Moradeyo who are both from Ogbomosoland to bribe pastors in Ogbomoso with the sum of N200million, oyoecho.com reliably gathered.

Impeccable source told our correspondent in Ibadan on Wednesday that the duo of Moradeyo and Oyelowo had been given N200million to distribute to pastors in Ogbomoso to facilitate endorsement for Makinde.

It would be recalled that Folarin was in Ogbomoso last Sunday to interact Christian and Muslim leaders in the zone where he promised to rule the state with the fear of God.

A renown pastor in Ogbomoso who does not want his name in print, urged Christian community in Ogbomoso not give in to pressure from the State Government and any politician in the forth coming elections.

According to the source, the governor was enraged and scolded his aides for allowing pastors to endorse Folarin in their base.

The source further revealed that with the support of Folarin’s runningmate, the pastors have thrown their weights behind their preferred candidate in Saturday’s elections, urging politicians to stop campaign of calumny and moneybag politics.

Speaking further, the source hinted that though Makinde is a Christian, but the pastors have the liberties to decide where they belong without fear or intimidation from the state government.

The source said; “I don’t want my name quoted. If you quote me, I will deny it because it is unofficial. As you have said, I also heard the money has been received. So, your source is correct. I heard that Senator Folarin was blessed by pastors last Sunday”

“We heard the governor had sent someone to us but how can you be sure that we won’t bite our fingers again. He didn’t see us for 4 years and now coming to deceive us again. I wish him the best but he has no right to challenge anyone who is ready to support the ministry.

“So, your source is correct and should be commended. Let me now sound a note of warning to politicians – do not set divide Oyo State along religious lines. Let us preach religious tolerance instead of hate speech” he concluded
