Sigidi nsere ete, o ni ki won gbe Oun rodo loo we.
When the effigy wants to perish, it will insist on being taken to the river for a bath.
An effigy is made of mud. It is an object that, though, has hands and legs, but it is motionless.
If the effigy now insists on having a swim in the river, isn’t that a perilous thought?
Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition is no longer a rumor.
Naturally, as a citizen of Nigeria who also possesses prerequisite qualifications, I agree that he has committed no crimes through his aspiration to be the president of Nigeria.
I am only disturbed that less than a year into his second term as Governor, such rumors began to surface in the public and in just about a year after, the presidential ambition is confirmed.
Several online platforms have been opened for the purpose of propagating Governor Makinde’s presidential ambition.
Close aides and friends have lend credence to the Governor’s presidential ambition.
Governor Makinde has not denied the claims by his aides and those publicly campaigning for him.
It is a surprise however that while citizens of Oyo state languish in pains of hunger and deprived of good roads and infrastructures in our local Governments, the Governor of Oyo state is preoccupied with his presidential ambition for 2027.
Governor Makinde has set the records as the first individual to make his presidential ambition known even in the midst of the hunger crisis in the Land.
Local Governments in Oyo state have been in suspension since 2019.
We are still begging Governor Makinde to speak to certain issues which include the debt profile of the state, debt profile of the Local Governments, his clear plan to address hunger, what he has done with the palliatives received from Abuja, the Loan facilitated by the Federal Government recently, aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the citizens and other salient issues.
The Governor has refused to answer this questions, yet, he thought this is the right time to talk about presidential ambition.
Yes, he has not come out himself to talk about it, but very close aides and associates have been talking about it.
He never cautioned his friends and aides who are engaged in this campaign, neither did he denied their claims and his silence could only be interpreted to mean consent.
Recently, a ” spiritual” angle has been introduced to the beat.
A prominent Man of God, Primate Ayodele known for his constant visions about politics and politicians, some labeled it permutations, he has enjoined Governor Makinde to immediately commence consultations about his presidential ambition because, he claimed to see Governor Makinde as the president in 2027.
Whether he received a message from God or not, who am I to query that?
Except that the said ” vision” or is it message immediately aroused my consciousness to remember the ” a o Merin joba” dance of the elephant with the tortoise as the elephant’s nemesis on that occassion.
Primate Ayodele, to his credit, has gotten some of his” visions ” or as some said, permutations right and yet, many has been proven wrong.
I think, the former Senate president, Bukola Saraki ought to be Nigeria’s president by now, if Primate Ayodele were right.
For Governor Makinde, I will recommend the solution of the man who was advised to shoot at the front or at the rear but if he is left alone, to take a deep breath and think well. ( Bo ba ko iwaju si o, taa. Bo ba ko eyin si o, taa. Bo ba ku iwo nikan, tun ero ara re pa).
If he really thinks he is up to it and that this is the appropriate time to go about campaigning for the 2027 presidential election, the ball is in his court.
However, this development has exposed Governor Makinde once again and I think those who think we are after him for political vendetta should have a rethink.
It is now obvious that each time Governor Makinde joins a protest against the Federal Government or when he goes hard on the policies of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he did so, seeing and targeting a potential political opponent in 2027.
His criticisms of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his policies are merely an act of politics and not driven by genuine concerns about the people as he and his followers would want us to believe.
There was an allegation by a faction of the National Associations of Nigerian Students, NANS just this last week that an unnamed South West Governor has been sponsoring protests against the Federal Government.
I hope it is not the same witch that cried last night who is also responsible for the death of the child who died this morning.
There are six Governors in the South West of Nigeria.
Four of them, the Governors of Ogun, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti are from the same political party with Tinubu and definitely have no reason to sponsor protests against the Federal Government.
Only Governors Makinde of Oyo state and Adeleke of Osun are from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
It is obvious that Adeleke is concerned about his second term ambition as Governor of Osun state and definitely shouldn’t have any reason to dissipate energy on sponsoring a protest against the Federal Government.
His problem is with the opposition in Osun and it will stand logic on its head for him to concentrate his energy against Abuja.
Me and you know who is left.
Before I round up this piece, I will like to once again reinstate that Governor Makinde’s presidential ambition is legitimate.
However, I think he should concentrate his efforts on how to develop Oyo state and make a good example of himself.
I am also curious about which platform he will fly his presidential ambition.
Is it the same PDP that he and his gang of G-5 combatants destroyed in 2023?
One good turns deserves another they say. I am sure one evil turns must surely attract another.
I just think I should remind His Excellency.
He who passes indiscriminate excrete on the footpath to his farm in the morning should expect to be greeted by a swarm of flies on his way back.
