The Centre for Public Accountability has described a recent petition, credited to a self styled Society for Women Empowerment SWE, addressed to the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as baseless, and another in the series of the desperate campaign of calumny, against the Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, by some desperate politicians, ahead of the forthcoming governorship primary, as they become increasingly uncomfortable, with the soaring popularity, of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The group, in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Conrade Olufemi Lawson, said “after careful examination, it has become evident that the so called “Society for Women Empowerment” is one of the many fictitious entities concocted by opponents of Governor Aiyedatiwa. Their petition, therefore, lacks credibility and substance.’

Lawson further said, that “Governor Aiyedatiwa is a responsible family man with an unwavering commitment to promoting women’s inclusion in governance and fostering empowerment initiatives. His track record speaks volumes about his dedication to uplifting women across Ondo State.”

“It is regrettable that such baseless attacks are orchestrated out of fear of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s impending victory in the forthcoming APC primary elections. The people of Ondo State have placed their trust and confidence in his leadership, especially as we approach the gubernatorial election.”

CPA further urged the public to see through these desperate attempts to tarnish Governor Aiyedatiwa’s reputation and to continue supporting his vision for a more prosperous and inclusive Ondo State.
