The United Front (TUF) has called for sanction of leaders of the Unity Forum in Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged release of fake delegate lists for the party’s state congress rescheduled for Saturday, 23rd October 2023.

Recall, Governor Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) abruptly suspended October 16th State Congress of the party in Oyo state due to alleged forging of documents meant for the exercise and other irregularities.

TUF, a group within Oyo State APC, stated that thorough investigations by the National Secretariat of the party would reveal that Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande; Chairman of National Lottery Commission, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and Senator Ayo Adeseun of the Unity Forum are behind the forging of results of ward and local congresses.

The group’s coordinator, Hon. Bello Razaq expressed disappointment over online circulation of fake delegate lists by loyalists of the leaders of Unity Forum.

TUF while urging teeming members of APC to discountenance the invented results of ward and local congresses, stated that only the APC national secretariat has the constitutional powers to announce results of congresses.

“We are calling on the National Secretariat of great party to weld the big stick on Prof. Adeolu Akande, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and Senator Ayo Adeseun of the Unity Forum.
“The Unity Forum elements are not only hellbent on destroying our party but also acting in total disregard to constituted authorities of the party”.

“In line with Section 21 of the APC constitution, the Unity Forum Leaders have committed grave offences and are liable to face sanctions. Governor Mai-Mala Buni-led APC CECPC must activate all disciplinary measures against the erring leaders in order to serve as deterrence to others in future”.

TUF threatened to drag Unity Forum Leaders to court for conspiracy and forgery, if the national secretariat of the party fails to act on the perpetrated Illegalities.
