Ogbomoso Progressives Group on Thursday described a former chief of staff to former governor Adebayo Alao Akala and a PDP chieftain, Dr. Saka Balogun as irresponsible, ingrate and mischievous.

Oyoecho reports that Dr. Saka Balogun had in a video that went viral in social media called his former principal as a fraud while addressing a group of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) supporters.

But the group in a statement signed by its Convener Dr. Solomon Stephen, described Dr Saka Balogun as senile man who feels intimidated with the rising popularity and acceptability of the late Akala even after his death.

“This shameless, asinine and uncouth outburst against the late Dr Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala is not only irresponsible, disingenuous, mere hatred, baseless and completely false but it is also balderdash, nonsensical and idiotic of a man whom the late governor touched his life and that of his families in many immeasurable ways. It is so disheartening that Dr Saka Balogun could feed the public with lies about his late boss. It shows how ungrateful and senile he has gone. Otunba Alao Akala is a legend who has touched many lives positively with his large heartedness. The former Chief of Staff should not die before his head is cut off as the Ogbomosos will speak with their votes in favour of his son at the polls. The rising popularity and acceptability of Akala even after death is giving Saka Balogun sleepless night and it is a pity we cannot help his dieing situation . Akala was never a fraud and no court convicted him of any fraud before his death. We therefore challenge Saka Balogun to state any fraud that the ex governor committed. It is a pity of man known in the political circle as a serial betrayer who worked against Lawyer Olatunji Mohammed , his former boss, from becoming the then governor of Oyo State, to call the late Alao Akala unprinted and false names because of the crumbs he is feeding from Governor Seyi Makinde’s table. This is a man people are always careful to relate with politically because of greediness and desperate zeal to associate with powers that be.”

The statement further said the unguarded statement attributed to Dr. Saka Balogun against the person of His Excellency, late Otunba Dr. Christopher Alao Akala and his esteemed family is both fallacious and fictitious. The statement is misleading, mischievous and misinforming.

“You can’t speak with the two sides of your mouth and expect people to take you serious. Rather than disrepute the admiring and enduring image of Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, Dr. Balogun has revealed his true color. He’s a man of double standard. Fortunately, our people are smart enough to separate the wheat of Dr. Saka’s lies from the lofty achievements of Otunba Alao-Akala.

“Even though the vague and terse statement lacks substance, it is worthy to know that Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala served Oyo state selflessly, and meritoriously with lasting legacies to his name. The good people of Oyo state still recall the time of Otunba with nostalgia, admiration and love.

“They considered his government the best in catering for the downtrodden. In fact, Otunba Alao-Akala’s entire life has been about service to the people, that is why it’s pathetic and disheartening that such a derisory statement is coming from one of his trusted allies.

“We hereby advice Dr. Saka Balogun to stop making baseless, dubious and unsubstantiated allegations against the Akala’s family. We are aware of the nature of this season. For relevance and survival, we know politicians can spew any form of gibberish. But this survival tactic is taken too far by Dr. Saka Balogun.

“As Dr. Balogun is aware, the Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala’s political dynasty is one big accommodating family and won’t allow the likes Dr. Saka to soil the name, image and reputation in the name of politics of vilification and mudslinging. As his track record of leadership has shown, Otunba Alao-Akala’s son, Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala is competent, reliable, dependable and ready to offer the good people of Ogbomoso North, South and Orire Federal Constituency quality and effective representation at the National Assembly, God willing.”
