President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has completely neglected the APC in Oyo state. No doubt about that.
There is equally no doubt that the president deliberately sold the APC in Oyo state out in favour of Governor Seyi Makinde of the PDP during the gubernatorial election.
In his choice of appointments, he did not hide his consternation to the APC while favouring those who moved to the Accord Party from the APC before the 2023 general election.
Both Zach Adelabu and Bayo Adelabu have left the APC for Accord Party and yet the president compensated them with juicy positions obviously in appreciation for helping destroy the APC during the gubernatorial and House of Assembly election.
Why would the president, himself, as National Leader of the APC before his election decide to ruin his party in Oyo state?
Emerging facts have shown that the wife of a late Governor of Oyo state, Florence Ajimobi and a former Governor of Osun state and Leader of APC are central to the wrath that is currently being visited on the Oyo APC.
Mrs. Florence Ajimobi never forgave the party leadership in Oyo state for failing to hand over the Senatorial ticket to her son-in-law, Kola Daisi.
It was Mrs. Florence Ajimobi who recruited Chief Bisi Akande to poison the mind of the president against the party and whatever It stood for.
Unfortunately, the president also allowed himself to be mislead by the rumours peddled against the party about “the reluctance” of the party in Oyo to support him during the presidential primary even though, in reality, the party in Oyo state delivered about 99 percent of delegates to Asiwaju.
One would have expected the president to call the sides and find truce but he continued to listen to the one side of those he “trusted”, headed by Bisi Akande and galvanized by Florence Ajimobi!
No wonder the president had no problem in awarding Oyo state to the G-5 while abandoning his own party.
The anger and vengeance of Florence Ajimobi and Bisi Akande seems to have no boundaries.
While other states who failed woefully to deliver during the presidential election are smiling over juicy appointments, Oyo has a solitary Ministerial slot.
It is painful that Oyo state, the political headquarters of the South West have been turned to a lackey and orphan in the government of president Bola Tinubu courtesy of Florence Ajimobi and Bisi Akande.
While Chief Bisi Akande keeps currying juicy appointments to his Osun state with zero contribution, he and Florence Ajimobi ensured that Oyo APC keeps wallowing in frustrations and neglect.
It is instructive that the seed they have sown will bear no good fruits.
