President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appearance at the opening of the two-day Progressive Digital Media Summit at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja has once again laid bare where his true priorities lie — and sadly, it is not the Nigerian people.

At a time when the economy is in freefall, investors — both local and foreign — are desperately seeking confidence-boosting engagement from the nation’s leader. Instead, Tinubu sat with his cyber army for a solid two hours, mapping out strategies to churn out propaganda, spread misinformation, and bully opposition politicians online.

From his first day in office, it has been clear that Tinubu sees the presidency not as a platform for governance, but as a launchpad for his 2027 re-election bid. Of all the meetings he has convened within the State House, an alarming 95% have revolved around politics and personal survival, not governance or development.

The irony is sickening: the president cannot find time to visit victims of insecurity, to stand with grieving communities, or to address the crises rocking troubled states — yet he can wine and dine with politicians at all hours. This is not just negligence; it is wickedness in high office.

Even as doctors and other medical personnel are on strike, Tinubu’s calendar does not spare a moment for dialogue with them. But when it comes to commissioning his digital “attack dogs” for political warfare, his schedule magically opens up.

Nigerians must be alert: there is no welfarist in the State House. What we have is a self-serving dealer, obsessed with 2027, governing only for his own ambition while the country burns.
