President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since his assumption of office has made several appointments from Oyo state.
Interestingly, none of his appointees is from the mainstream APC in the state.
Rather, the President had consistently snubbed the Party structures and opted for picking his choice of appointees from opposition political parties within the state.
The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje was in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital yesterday to pay a visit to the Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu who is recuperating in Ibadan after returning from a medical trip abroad.
Thankfully, the National Chairman, who was received by the Oyo APC Chairman, Dr. Isaac Omodewu and hundreds of Party faithfuls visited the Oyo APC Secretariat in Oke Ado before returning to Abuja.
To the credit of Dr. Omodewu, he delivered a brilliant speech that captured the mood of the party in Oyo state – a feeling of neglect and despair.
In fact, Omodewu did not shy from telling the National Chairman that the sweat and sacrifice of the Oyo APC has so far been for nothing as the party is been neglected in the scheme of things by Abuja.
I had many times in the past voiced my frustrations on the treatments meted to the Oyo APC in the government of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
I must give credit to Dr. Isaac Omodewu, his Excos, Party Leaders and faithfuls who, despite the constant spurns and neglect by the Party and Government still went ahead to mobilize to arrange a befitting reception for the National Chairman.
The visit of the APC National Chairman eventually provided an avenue to send a strong message and Dr. Omodewu did not disappoint.
It up now to those concerned to do the needful.
I think by now, it must have been clear to whoever that is writing a playbook for the current template in Oyo that there is just one indissoluble structure of the APC in Oyo State under the Leadership of Dr. Isaac Omodewu.
Whatever rag-tag of a structure apart from the mainstream party structure under Oke Ado is some funny jokes.
It is now up to the National Chairman of the APC to present a true picture of the situation in Oyo to Abuja.
The structure of the APC in Oyo state is so resolute, committed and waxing stronger in the face of constant persecution.
To those who felt that there is an anomalie in Oyo APC which could only be redressed by empowering some individuals against the interest of the party structures, they have only been administering a wrong dose.
Appointments do not bestow acceptance.
For someone to be accepted, he must be charismatic.
Charisma is the possession of the ability to make others do what ordinarily they wouldn’t have done.
The current Leaders of the APC in Oyo state are charismatic.
Party faithfuls believe in them and will stick with them through thick and thin.
I hope the National Chairman will take the Bulls by the horns and advice Government to address the ugly situation in Oyo state.
The Party in Oyo state is very strong and should be made stronger by Abuja.
The story of the APC in Oyo state leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
The structure, if not deliberately weakened is strong enough to deliver hundred percent in any election without cow toeing to any opposition Governor.
The National Chairman have been presented with an opportunity to see for himself the true position of things.
I hope he will pick the courage to do the needful.
