- Accuses Olaleye of masterminding the crisis
Pandemonium broke out at the Bola Ige international market, Gbagi, Ibadan on Wednesday when the traders unleashed mayhem on the workers of a consultant, One Hub Technology Partnership limited allegedly appointed by the Commissioner for Trade, investment and commerce, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye as estate developer for the Bola Ige market.
It was gathered that trouble started when the workers engaged by ONEHUB TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP LIMITED, a consultant purportedly appointed by the said Commissioner approached the market to commence activities relating to management of the said market.
The traders were angry when they noticed that the workers engaged by the said consultant were the ones who had worked in the said market with a consultant previously managed the said market during the administration of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi
They alleged that the said workers were people of questionable characters that created a lot of problems when they were working in the market during the last administration.
According to them, “we were surprised when we saw these people again. When they were working in the market the infrastructure started decaying, the roads were so bad and the places meant for parking lots were converted to shops at the detriment of traders and customers. Many problems plaguing the market then were not addressed. So we don’t pray to have such people at the helm of affairs in our market again.
Speaking on the development, an official at the due process office of the governor’s office denied the knowledge of appointment of any consultant for the Bola Ige international market, saying that the Governor is yet to approve any consultant to manage the affairs in the said market which will be done after the recommendation by the due process.
The official who spoke under the strict condition of anonymity said that though some companies bidded for the management of the Bola Ige market including one KAMILUIZ NIGERIA LTD, but it was among the companies that were rejected for lack of experience and necessary requirements at the due process level.
“We gathered that after it was rejected, KAMILUIZ used another name, One Hub partnership Technology limited to deceive unsuspecting members of the public. This was done in connivance with Aremo John Adeleke, erstwhile Chairman of Board of internal revenue who brought him at the initial stage to bid for the project.
The owner of Kamiluiz alongside Commissioner for Finance and Aremo John Adeleke allegedly requested the former commissioner in the Ministry of Trade, investment and commerce, to rally and support for Kamiluiz consultant’s request but the said Commissioner refused.
But they succeeded in enticing the new Commissioner, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye who supported their bidding.
It was the Governor that has the power to approve a consultant based on the recommendation by the due process. But Barrister Olaleye did not wait for governor’s approval before he directed One Hub Technology Partnership limited to go ahead and supervise the market so as to satisfy the interest of his colleague in the ministry of finance and Aremo Adeleke.
I am sure Governor Makinde is not aware of this attrocity. Even the Commissioner, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye was quoted to have confided in one of his friends that he wants to make his money from this government at Bola Ige market through One Hub Technology Partnership limited as consultant because there is no assurance that Governor Makinde will win second term in office.
With this development danger is looming in the market if the One Hub Technology Partnership limited parading itself as consultant is not restrained. Its activity will have adverse effects in the market. The crisis that will follow will be unquantifiable.
As stated earlier, it was Aremo John Adeleke who brought the consultant, KAMILUIZ NIGERIA LTD that advised him to re-apply with another company name after it was rejected by the due process so as to perpetrate their dastardly act in the market.
When KAMILUIZ NIGERIA LTD was in charge of Ogunpa market during the administration of late Ajimobi, there were many petitions written against him in the market which makes it incompetent to supervise a big market like Bola Ige.
What Barrister Olaleye has done contravenes the policy and procedure of the due process by giving express approval to a company who lacked experience and failed the bidding requirements necessary for the management of such a market in the state.” He lamented.
