As 2019 election was approaching, there were serious agitations from various quarters, the major players were the Asorosoboto and Akigbemaru teams.

The Akigbemaru accused Asorosoboto of taking leadership decisions all by himself being the main man at the helm of affairs then, all they wanted was leadership but Asorosoboto being an intelligent, outspoken, smart and highly principled man called those who matter in the scheme of politics and went ahead in executing his plan, but his anointed candidate didn’t make it to the end, in the spirit of sportsmanship he acceded to the party decision.
On the other hand, the Akigbemaru felt the only way to spoil the show for Asorosoboto was to dissociate themselves from all his activities in order to disgrace him, they went the other way since the only factor that was disturbing their hold on leadership was Asorosoboto.

    Fast forward……
When the time to compete for leadership came, Asorosoboto tried all he could but lost two major seats in town: the centre and the South while he won the Central & the North.

Asorosoboto also won many number of minor seats.
What exactly did the Akigbemaru win? Virtually nothing except compensation from the king of the land babajejelaiyegba through Aro Onifilagogoro who had connection with baba Jejelaiyegba.

Everyone went back to his domain, along the line Asorosoboto died, this should have been the golden opportunity for Akigbemaru to lay hands on leadership since his major blocker is gone, but Akigbemaru was busy playing Ludo game, no tactics, no strategies, no direction, no focus but still mourning and murmuring around like Egbere.

    Fast forward…….
Another time to lay hold on leadership came but they were still behaving in their usual manner, suddenly there came Logunofe a nurtured off-spring of Asorosoboto, (whom Asorosoboto brought from comatose to life) he is strategic, smart, calculative, resolute, brave, he only plays Chess and puzzle to improve his intelligence.

Logunofe allowed the Akigbemaru to have their ways in almost all the minor neighbouring villages but outsmart and out run them in all the Major cities, then the Akigbemarus returned to their wailing ways of Asorosoboto days.

Some aggrieved offsprings of Asorosoboto have equally joined Akigbemaru and also crying more than the bereaved, the shakabula followers who could not tame their emotions.

Ludo is for amateur while Chess is for heavyweight.
The truth today is that Asorosoboto wasn’t the real problem while Akigbemaru couldn’t lay hands on leadership in 2019 but their hypocrisy, lack of organisation, lack of internal principles, everyone of them wants to be number one.

We shall wait and see how events unfold.

    …..to be continued.
