The piece titled ” Prophet Beelzebub’s Animus And The Oyo Project” by Sulaimon Olanrewaju afforded me the opportunity to see through the mind of the official spokesperson of Governor Makinde.
For the benefits of non Christian readers and those who might not be familiar with the Holy Bible, Beelzebub is a Demonic Lord, Prince of Darkness, Fallen Angel who fell from the Grace of God as a result of his refusal to bow to Adam, the first Man made by God.
Beelzebub was coursed by God as a result of that disobedience.
In short, Beelzebub is Satan Himself.
Interestingly, Sulaimon Olanrewaju is said to be a Pastor.
Governor Makinde’s spokespersons chose to consider anyone who dared to ask questions about the policies of his Principal, or who demanded account of stewardship from his Principal as Satan!
Fortunately, Governor Seyi Makinde, his Principal, did not get the position of Governor at first ask.
Between 2015 and 2019, Governor Makinde led a fierce opposition against the former Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s Government.
Eng. Seyi Makinde as he then was, never spared that Government a moment of respite.
I am sure Olanrewaju would be at the Nigerian Tribune at the particular time and must have been aware of the roles Eng. Seyi Makinde played as opposition figure.
Let me now ask Sulaimon, if at the particular time, he had ever thought of Eng. Seyi Makinde as Beelzebub?
The reference to opposition opinions as representing a Satanic tendencies by Pastor Olanrewaju leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
As a Christian, Christ forbids a true disciple of His not to judge others.
I wonder which Doctrine will push Olanrewaju to refer to critics of his Principal as Satanic!
Doctrine of the necessity to keep the bread and butter on the table?
The word ” Animus” means hostility or Ill feeling.
I will also like to ask Olanrewaju if Eng. Seyi Makinde’s criticisms of Ajimobi between 2015 and 2019 were driven by animosities and Ill feelings?
Some people think they can intimidate, harass and mesmerize everyone with dictions, grammar and a display of the knowledge of literature.
We are not all lazy.
For some of us, if you go high, we will go higher.
I will now deal with Olanrewaju’s rhetorics of why he thought Governor Seyi Makinde is godly and should not be criticized even if he sells out Oyo state.
I think Olanrewaju and his Principal could not contain the excitement of the visit of the latter to former Governor Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja yesterday.
We told them and we are repeating it here. Ladoja, not Makinde is the victor in the episode of the controversial reviews of the Olubadan Chieftaincy Law orchestrated by the Governor.
Governor Makinde has just confirmed our stand by the excitement and celebration of his visit to Ladoja immediately after the Otun Olubadan granted an interview with Fresh FM where a kind of ceasefire could be deduced.
Is that the first time Makinde will be visiting Ladoja?
How many times has he visited the Ibadan High Chief without anyone knowing?
The fact that Olanrewaju considered the visit of Wednesday, 7th of August as worthy of being publicized and celebrated is a further confirmation that all was not well between the duo and the Governor couldn’t wait to rush home.
The evils that men do follows them.
Before the Governorship election of 2019, both Makinde and Ladoja were on the same page as regards the issue of the Olubadan Chieftaincy Law.
As Governor, if opinion differs and the Governor decided to follow a different part , how is that the doing of the imaginary political sponsors Olanrewaju is pointing to?
The restlessness of the Oyo state Governor these days are not the doings of any political enemies.
It is a product of nemesis. No one asked Governor Makinde to tie the monthly Allocations for the Local Governments to a Loan contract.
No one asked him to change gears and embrace the reviews of the Olubadan Chieftaincy Law.
No one pushed him to enclose the gazetted Law in the program of events of the Coronation ceremony of Oba Olakuleyin.
No one pushed him to keep postponing the day of the Installation of Oba Olakuleyin because he wants Baba to be fit before installing him.
No one pushed him to refuse to do the needful after the Oyomesi had submitted a candidate for the stool of the Alaafin.
No one pushed Governor Makinde to threaten Princes of Ogbomosho with the ” full might of state power ” just because they’re exercising a Constitutional right.
No one pushed him to keep selling Oyo state Land to Estate Developers.
No Beelzebub pushed him to keep agitating about the judgment of the Supreme Court which confered financial Autonomy to the Local Governments as if he is the only Governor in Nigeria affected by the said Judgment.
Governor Seyi Makinde criticized Ajimobi as Governor and had issues with him till he passed away.
He criticizes Tinubu at will. Is he a Beelzebub for exercising such rights?
I am sure Sulaimon will agree with me that he is not and if so, Oga Sulaimon should play another music this one is hogwash.
