The immediate past executive vice-chairmen in Oke-Ogun Zone 1, comprising Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola and Iwajowa local government areas of Oyo State, have congratulated former commissioner Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu on his emergence as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.

Hon. Omodewu and 35 other State Executives of Oyo APC emerged in the party’s state congress conducted on October 30th 2021 at Liberty Stadium Ibadan.

The former council vice-chairmen paid a solidarity visit to Ibadan residence of Hon. Omodewu on Monday.

In a statement jointly signed by Hon. Kayode Ojo (Iseyin South LCDA), Hon. Adeniji Ishaq (Iseyin LGA), Hon. Salami Muniru (Araromi LCDA), Hon. (Mrs.) S.N Olayanju (Kajola LGA), Hon. Adeniji Julius (Itesiwaju LGA), Hon. Azeez Biliaminu (Iwajowa LCDA) and Hon. Ogunsanya Julius (Iwajowa LGA), and released to journalists after a closed-door meeting with the newly-elected State Chairman of Oyo APC, the former council vice-chairmen described Hon. Omodewu as a round peg in a round hole.

“We hail all the party delegates for unanimously choosing Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu as the new state chairman of our great party in Oyo State. The victory is a well-deserved one”.

“With the emergence of Hon. Omodewu as the new State Chairman, Oyo APC will undoubtedly become stronger and better positioned to ensure victories in 2023. The former commissioner will exploit his experience to strengthen, unify and make the party unbeatable”.

“Hon. Omodewu is eminently qualified for the enormous responsibility of leading Oyo APC to electoral victories, having been a core progressive from childhood and also served for uninterrupted 8 years as honourable commissioner under late former governor Abiola, which have prepared him with the requisite experience and skills for the task of building a formidable party”.

“We are throwing our weights behind Omodewu-led Oyo APC because the former commissioner has demonstrated loyalty, determination, dedication and commitment to the growth and development of the party, especially the progressive family, over the years”.

“We are urging all the party stakeholders and teeming members to rally round and support Hon. Omodewu-led state executives. It is time for all of us to come together to rebuild Oyo APC”.

“We strongly task Hon. Omodewu-led executives to close ranks with all those who competed for one position or the other in the just concluded State Congress of the party. The new executives must be magnanimous in victories with a view to ensuring rapid reconciliation”.

The former council vice-chairmen while tasking Hon. Omodewu to attract new members into the party, also advised him to enthrone internal democracy and create a level-playing ground for all aspirants jostling for positions in 2023 general elections.

They pledge their maximum support for the administration of Hon. Omodewu as he pilots the affairs of the party for the next four years.
