Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is seriously in the mood to amuse these days.

When I read his statement where he pledge to be physically present at the National Assembly to support Senator Godswill Akpabio’s Senate Presidential ambition, I asked myself: with what?

Very obviously, the contest for the Senate Presidency is not a Football game where supporters could cheer their team to victory by clapping of hands or beating of drums.

The business of electing a Senate President is strictly by elected Senators.

Yes. I agree that at this point, serious lobby is required.

The question again is, who will Makinde lobby?

The last time I checked, his Party, the PDP in Oyo State lost the three Senatorial seats and to their credits, the three elected Senators from Oyo State requires no lobbying as they have keyed behind the Party.

What exactly is Makinde’s true intentions?

It is not difficult to infer that he, like his brother G5 adventures see tomorrow as another avenue to continue their eye service in a bid to get noticed by President Tinubu.

It is within Makinde’s right to attend the session of the Senate but he ought to be bold enough to admit the real reasons behind his decision.

    SOLA ABEGUNDE.
