When the Government of Oyo State and the Oyo State Police Command moved against the former Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management system, Mukaila Lamidi aka Auxiliary, I was one of those who were sceptical about the motive of the manhunt and the sincerity of the Governor to see the matter to a logical conclusion.

Recent events seem to be reinforcing my scepticism.

All along, I had a strong feeling that Governor Makinde in his characteristics deceptive manner was just acting a script.

A script that is mainly targeted at making Auxiliary take the fall for his ineptitude and failings, allow him to change the Leadership of the Transport Union in line with the pre election arrangements made with factions of the Union earlier alienated in favour of Auxiliary and to play on the intelligence of unsuspecting citizens of Oyo State in line with his populism Agenda.

Statements and activities of some close associates and unofficial mouthpiece of Governor Makinde have since raised concerns and buttressed my belief.

First, on Saturday, 3rd of June, Isaac Brown, the Ibadan Radio Presenter spoke with Auxiliary on a live program! He spoke with a man purportedly declared wanted.

If Auxiliary’s known phone lines are still going to the extent that he could be granting live Radio interviews, I think his whereabouts shouldn’t be difficult to trace by the Police if indeed they’re searching for him.

Another of Makinde’s close ally and a Radio Presenter, Oriyomi Hamzat in a live video calling on Makinde to ” forgive” Mukaila. In fact, he admonished him to beg some PDP Leaders so that he could be “forgiven to enjoy what he had gathered”!

You could say this individuals are entitled to their opinion but individuals who had always correctly predicted the Governor’s thoughts and are known, most especially, Oriyomi, to be associate of the Governor.

The issues against Auxiliary transcends personal affinities and Politics.

This is an ex convict who has been alleged of harbouring very dangerous weapons and sundry allegations.

This is someone who has been alleged to be involved in several murder cases all over Oyo State from Eruwa to Igangan to Iwo Road.

At this point, there should be no room and would be no room for unholy settlement of this matter.

The Governor and the Police must conduct transparent investigation of this matter and ensure that culprits are brought to book.

In addition, it is incumbent on Governor Makinde to refer the activities of Auxiliary to relevant Anti corruption Agencies.

The PMS under Auxiliary stinks of monumental corruption.

I have been wondering how, within a couple of years, an ex convict with no known solid source of income would have amassed the kind of properties traced to Auxiliary.

This is a matter for the beneath of the carpet.

Governor Makinde and the Police rather than Mukaila Auxiliary are the ones on trial here.
