As the tussles for gubernatorial ticket in all parties attain crescendos, One of the APC Gubernatorial forerunners BAYO ADELABU PENKELEMESI had on last Sunday conspicuously displayed his ignorance and lack of ethos to be the Governor of the pacesetter state in the coming 2023 General Elections.

The ‘Peculiar Mess’ featured on a programme in Fresh FM and instead of selling himself to the public as a second time comer, he disgracefully and unculturedly condemned the relevance of Òkèogun region in the Social Economic growth of Oyo State. Hence, he said all of the road networks embarked on by the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde are waste of the States resources. On the Moniya-Iseyin road, his statements read in part, “the road is a death trap, too narrow and of no economic value to the state.

These statements are barbaric, unreasonable and are strongly condemned in totalty.

One should have not dignify this childish display from a supposed exposed individual in the level of Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, but for clarity and in order not to mislead the public, PENKELEMESI needs to be schooled that:

    1. Òkèogun is the Food Basket of Oyo State from where food travels to other parts of the state, through to Lagos and some other southwestern States. As such, reconstruction of Moniya-Iseyin road and Oyo Iseyin road is key in this regard.

    2. Iseyin, being the gateway to Òkèogun, the region of the state which housed 10 local governments of the 33 total in the State, the road in question is highly deserving under equity and fairness.

    3. The Establishment LAUTECH’s College of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural resources in Iseyin demands that more students and Lecturers from Ogbomosho will be travelling to Iseyin enroute Ogbomosho-Oyo road. This will pose more vehicular pressure on the existing road and could amount to more accident. Creating a new one to relief the existing and for faster ditto safe travels is not a bad idea. This will open more Economic opportunities to the villages along the new road axis and will be instrumental to the villages’ expansion.

By every standard, it’s safe enough to conclude that Chief ADELABU is a callous sectional man who believes not in any other region as part of Oyo state, safe Ibadan. And fielding someone like him to contest in an election by APC is tantamount to killing the party in the state, as no true-born of Òkèogun will ever trust him with votes anytime soon.

We have resolved that the Man, Adelabu returns to the same station where he vomited balderdash and apologize to the entire good people of Òkèogun whom he ridiculed by his uncensored comments. Perhaps, he may be forgiven some other time in his political career.
