The holy book of the Christians in Genesis 4 vs 7 says “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
This scriptural verse succinctly describe the recent ranting of Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde, the Executive Governor of our dear state, Oyo. Nearly all News media quoted Mr Governor – the former star boy of PDP National and Ex sole proprietor of Southwest PDP – shouting on top of his voices “I am the leader of Oyo PDP”, more so at a non-political function.
However, it is law of Karma at play as it has dawn on Engr. Seyi Makinde that Late Aare Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister is indeed a prophet. The late Fuji Creator turned into a melodious song one Yoruba proverb which says “Ti Eni to ng pa iro fun o ba mo, Eni to ng pa’ro mo lokan re, pe oun to ng tan ni Odun Egun, Omo Alagba a fi owo ra akara lati fi jeko”.
Since the coming in of Mr Seyi as the Executive Governor of a PDP led government in Oyo State, he has taken the Party as well as Party Elders, Leaders and Followers for a ride that one can describe it as “Ko seleri”. Even, the Local government arm of the Makinde led government was starved of statutory allocation and left malfunctioned because Engr Seyi do not want any Party man to be empowered.
In preparation for 2023 elections, Mr Seyi put logic upside down and became a slave to his ambition of second term. Thus he did everything possible to destroy a solid, responsive and winning institution like Oyo PDP.
Thanks to the core party loyalists spread across the State and the teeming good People of Oyo State who dare all odds to return some of our Federal representative candidates to Victory. Left for Mr Governor, and according to his recent confession, he had sold all our National Assembly Candidates for a pot of porridge.
Since that inception of a PDP led government of Engr. Seyi Makinde and in total display of his executive rascality, Mr Governor throws every legitimate patronage due to the Party to the rubbish bag as long as he continues to dwell in his fool’s Paradise. From the composition of State Executive council in 2019 and 2023 to the Local Government Executive Council, it is the same song of Party neglects.
Yet this funny character now seek the leadership of the same institution that he vilifies with reckless abandonment. It is only an unbalanced character or a very mean personality that switches like that. Let Mr Seyi Makinde be told the truth that PDP is a well structured party built by the people’s genuine leaders and for the good people of Nigeria, therefore, a selfish, greedy, ungrateful and totalitarian element like Sir Abiodun Makinde can never lead a democratic Party like Oyo PDP.
Circumstances and situations that defined 2019 elections were gracious to Engr Makinde as the core beneficiary of that struggle which sent away the then “Constituted Authority” led government. As someone who did not learn anything from that people’s struggle, let him go back to his MAKON Nig Ltd to devour the loots of his inglorious tenure. Makinde has no structure nor integrity to lead Oyo State PDP.
