I listened to Senator Ayoade Adeseun’s spurious and unwarranted attacks directed at individuals within the Oyo APC and the Party Itself.
Who would blame Senator Adeseun. After all, the dead child has created an opportunity to copulate with Its mother.
Nowadays, anti party activities brings compensation rather than condemnation.
It is a very good time for Senator Adeseun and others in his shoes to publicly celebrate their inglorious acts of joining with the enemy to set fire in their own inheritance.
I will not belabor myself by trying to defend or disprove whatever he said against individuals or the party.
History is a patient onlooker and could be extremely thorough and unkind in its judgment. It is patiently waiting to deliver judgment at the appropriate time.
If Senator Adeseun thinks it is glorious, for whatever reason, to come to the open and admit that he engaged in series of activities to pull down the efforts of thousands of people just because he and others had issues with a few people, I can’t wait to see how History will treat him in the near future.
I will invite Senator Adeseun to research the history of those who first practiced acts of sabotage against their party and Its Leadership.
In May of 1962, one Chief Ayo Rosiji, an erstwhile close associate of the late Obafemi Awolowo led the likes of Chief Okunnowo, Abiodun Akerele and a few other legislators elected on the platform of the Action Group to disparage Awolowo and the AG on the floor of the House of Reps in Lagos.
Precisely the 29th of May, 1962. A motion seeking to declare a state of emergency in the Western Region had been moved by the Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
Rosiji and his co travelers who had issues with Awolowo and the AG chose to side with the Ruling Northern People’s Congress of Balewa against their party.
Just like Senator Adeseun was speaking with gusto yesterday, Rosiji, in his contribution in support of the motion to declare a state of emergency in the South West threw caution to the wind and declared that the action to be taken that day would signal the political death of Awolowo.
History proved him wrong.
Rather than for Awolowo to die politically, the consequences of their actions that day snowballed into a catastrophic events of very severe magnitude.
Who hears of Rosiji, Okunnowo and Akerele today in Nigeria’s political history?
I think Senator Adeseun as an adult and experience politician should rather be concerned about the fact that Oyo state is currently relegated in this Government due to their unnecessary bickering.
If Ogun state has three slots for Ministerial appointment, and Oyo has one, what is there to celebrate?
I am disappointed that he also thinks this is the appropriate time to talk of dissolving party executives in Oyo state.
The question is, to what end? To satisfy the selfish ambition of the new sheriff in town?
The funny thing about time is that it is a temporary visitor and I think Senator Adeseun should know this better.
It beats my imagination that someone of his age and status could be out, celebrating the fact that they played the role of “basije”, the small insect that is capable of spoiling a while pot of soup!
