The piece by Akeem Olatunji on behalf of Oyo State PDP concerning the statement made by Distinguished Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin is amusing to say the least.

Folarin had a couple of days ago stated that he was thrown under the Bus during the gubernatorial election.

A careful analysis of the statements made by Teslim showed that his statement was directed at arrangements within his Party.

How the matter jumped over to concern Akeem Olatunji and the PDP is what I do not understand.

The kind of anger dissipated by the PDP in this matter actually confirms the observations of Senator Folarin.

It is interesting that the PDP considers Folarin who lost an election and decided not to contest the results at the Tribunal despite having many reasons to do so as a sore loser.

The use of the word “serial” loser in describing Senator Folarin calls to question the reasoning of the PDP.

If Teslim is regarded as a serial loser, what will they call Seyi Makinde?

How many times did Seyi Makinde contest elections and lost before luck finally smiled upon him in 2019 following a political alignment put together by former Governor Ladoja?

Those who had their palm kernels cracked for them by benevolent spirits always see others as lazy. That’s according to Chinua Achebe.

It is on record that Teslim and Makinde once ran for Governorship in 2015 on their own merits. Teslim, on the platform of the PDP and Makinde, on the platform of the SDP and even though, the two of them lost to Ajimobi, Teslim, by the results declared was well ahead of Seyi Makinde.

The reference to Seyi Makinde as the most successful politician in the history of Oyo State is not only laughable, it is absurd.

If Seyi Makinde is perceived to be the most successful politician in the history of Oyo State, what will Ajimobi be having been elected Senator before breaking the jinx of second term in the state?

The penchant for exaggeration by the PDP is legendary. So also is their penchant for balderdash.

Referring to someone who won election into the Senate for three terms as a serial loser is pure balderdash.

It is unfortunate that the PDP is laying accusations of opportunism on the door of Senator Folarin.

If I may ask, how did Seyi Makinde win an election for the first time?

Is it not courtesy of an alignment of Political parties and Groups facilitated by Baba Ladoja?

Where was Akeem Olatunji and the PDP when Makinde confirmed on live Radio that he was able to win as a result of the help he got from the APC?

It’s so funny that the PDP shamelessly attributes the loss of the Senatorial and House of Reps election to a “Tsunami”!

If the loss is as a result of a Tsunami, why is the PDP at the Tribunal challenging the outcome of an election they admitted losing to a Tsunami.

Thank God, they did not say that the APC won those ballots because Makinde help them to win as we had earlier been made to believe.

How a Party which made a fugitive like Auxiliary the head of a sensitive Government Agency still have the audacity to allege Senator Folarin of hooliganism baffles me.

Instead of the PDP to bury their heads in shame that an ex convict they have been defending for the past four years has been declared wanted by the Police for being in possession of illegal firearms and other criminal allegations, they still think it is proper for them to be pointing baseless accusing fingers.

The one that really put me off is the reference to Senator Folarin as a puppet. Puppet to who?

When you consider the relationship between Seyi Makinde and former Governor Wike of Rivers State, I am sure the PDP should look inwards and advice Governor Makinde to honor the office of the Governor of Oyo State and stop being a puppet to Wike.

That relationship between the duo better describes a puppet.
