Ahead of his formal declaration to join the presidential race, Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, is set to meet with all state chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Abuja on Monday 14th March, 2022.
The Acting Chairman of the party’s National Caretaker Committee and Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, formally inaugurated the state chairmen last week Monday at the party secretariat in Abuja.
The schedule of the meeting sent out to the state chairmen by Alhaji Bukar Dalori, Borno State APC Chairman and Chairman of the Forum, informed members that the meeting with the Vice President would be by 8.30pm on Monday.
The notice of meeting reads: “The Chairman of the Forum is inviting all Chairmen/members of Forum to a meeting with the Vice President of the federal Republic of Nigeria as follow
Date 14th March 2022
Meeting point before take off to Villa is Barcelona Hotel by 8pm

While notice of the meeting with the Vice President did not clearly state what the agenda of the meeting is about, WESTERN POST gathered from one of the chairmen who received the notice of invitation that Professor Osinbajo would use the opportunity of the meeting to personally inform the state chairmen of APC his interest to enter the presidential race on the platform of the ruling party.
Various groups of supporters have called on the Vice President to join the presidential race describing him as the most qualified and competent person to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
There had been speculation in the media in the last couple of months on whether the Vice President would seek to be the next President following a formal declaration in December 2021, by his political mentor and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
While the Vice President according to sources close to him has not informed his boss, President Buhari, of his ambition, his foot soldiers being led by his Political Adviser, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, have been travelling around the country mobilising various interest groups to support the yet to be declared presidential ambition of their principal.
