Former commissioner and State Chairman-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu mourns the death of former governor and chairman of Oyo APC Elders’ Advisory Council, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala.
The former governor of Oyo State died in his home country, Ogbomoso on Wednesday at the age of 71.
In a statement issued on behalf of the elected ward, local and state executives of the party, Hon. Omodewu described the death of Alao-Akala as a great loss not only to Ogbomoso, Oyo State but also to the APC family.
The State Chairman-elect described the former governor as having contributed immensely to the development of humanity.
“We are deeply shocked over the sad incident. His Excellency was a peaceful, committed, and dedicated party leader. He was a good father to many of us.”
“His death is unfortunate, but God is not unaware. He allowed it for a purpose. May God comforts the immediate family, the APC members, and the entire people of the state”.
“His Excellency left a great position that is difficult to fill, considering his contributions to the unity in Oyo APC, legendary developments Ogbomoso witnessed during his lifetime and his great achievements as executive governor of Oyo State”.
The APC chairman prayed that God Almighty will grant the family of the deceased, the people of Ogbomoso and Oyo State as well as the APC family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
