The State Affairs NG reports that former state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke holds meeting with leaders of Unity Forum and seven zonal leaders at Oke-Ado State Secretariat of the party.
The State Affairs NG reliably gathered that Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Chief Moses Alake, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi and other top members of Unity Forum attended meeting with Chief Akin Oke. Also in attendance were seven zonal leaders, which include Chief C.A Ajibade, Chief Kunle Sanda, Chief Goke Oyetunji (standing in for Chief Abu Gbadamosi), Chief Samuel Adekola, Chief Timothy Jolaosho, Chief B.A Ajibade and Pa Olorode.
Inside source told The State Affairs NG that the decision to hold today’s meeting was taken during a closed-door meeting involving former first lady of OyoState, Florence Ajimobi, Chief Akin Oke and Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) – Prof. Adeolu Akande, Senator Ayo Adeseun and Chief Abu Gbadamosi. According to the source, the meeting was held on Monday at Oluyole House of former governor Abiola Ajimobi
Reacting to the development, the Coordinator of The Unity Front (TUF), Hon. Bello Razaq described Chief Akin Oke as a compromised leader who has been monetised to polarise the party.
“It’s very pathetic that Chief Akin Oke is acting in defiance to the directive of the party’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee by holding today’s. No doubt that the 83-year-old man has been induced with money to polarize the party”.
“The APC National Secretariat gave a clear cut directive that former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala should midwife harmonization process as a result of fallout of State Congress held on October 30th 2021 at Liberty Stadium. Otunba Alao-Akala is expected to call and preside over the meeting, not the former state chairman”.
“To us at TUF, the meeting held at Oke-Ado is nothing but a mere gathering. Unfortunately for Chief Oke, zonal leaders refused to append their signatures to a yet-to-be revealed resolution of the meeting”.
TUF Coordinator accused Chief Oke of working for money, saying the former state chairman received grant from Mrs. Florence yesterday.
However, a source confided in this newspaper that former governor Alao-Akala has directed Secretary of Oyo APC Elders’ Advisory Council, Dr. Isiaka Kolawole to send a notice of meeting to former deputy governors Iyiola Oladokun and Moses Alake; seven zonal leaders, membsrs of Oyo APC Elders’ Advisory Council; former state chairman, Chief Akin Oke and former state secretary of the party, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya.
The source confided in this newspaper that the harmonization meeting with the Chairman of Oyo APC Elders’ Advisory Council will hold on Wednesday by 3:00pm at the Awosika residence of the former governor.
